The ten types we stock

Photo, function, size, material, working pressure and end connection on every card — so you can compare them without opening ten pages. Working pressures are the manufacturer’s ratings; tell us the duty and we will confirm the exact model.

Two rules worth knowing. A ball valve held half open will wear its seat — if the duty is throttling, use a globe. And a Y‑strainer fitted upstream of anything with a seat or a moving part will outlast the thing it protects.

Getting the specification right

Material decides whether the valve survives the medium. These four lines decide whether we can quote it without asking you twice.

The materials, and when each one is right

  • SS316 — the default where corrosion matters. Molybdenum is what gives it the edge over 304.
  • CF8M — the cast equivalent of 316. If a body is cast rather than machined, this is the grade you will see.
  • Cast iron — water and low‑duty service where cost matters more than pressure.
  • Cast steel — takes more pressure and temperature than cast iron, in the same flanged sizes.
  • Forged steel A105 — small bore at higher pressure, threaded or socket weld. This is what gets you to 800 PSI.
  • Brass — small bore water and air, where stainless is more than the job needs.

What to send us

Four things and we can quote without going back and forth:

  • Function — isolate, throttle, stop backflow or strain.
  • Size — nominal bore, and the schedule or flange table if it is flanged.
  • Standard and rating — ANSI 150#/300#, JIS 5K/10K, or PN10/16/40.
  • Medium and temperature — this is what decides SS316 against cast iron.

If you are replacing a valve, the old part number or a photo of the nameplate is usually enough on its own.

What is in them

  • Dimensions — face‑to‑face, bore, flange drilling and weight, per size.
  • Ratings — working pressure by material and by standard, so you can check a duty before you order.
  • Materials and trim — body, ball or disc, stem and seat for each variant.
  • Testing — every AF Hydro valve is seat‑leakage tested to API 598 and carries a heat number, so a certificate can be matched to the valve in your hand.

Before you download

  • Most are 1 to 2.5 MB, so they open quickly on mobile data.
  • They open in a new tab. Nothing is gated: no form, no sign‑up, no email address.
  • Sizes and ratings are in the catalogue; stock and price are not. Send us the sizes and we will confirm both.
  • Not sure which of the eighteen ball valve sheets applies? Send the duty — medium, pressure, size and end connection — and we will point you at the right one.
