Lame International S.r.l. has made high pressure forged pipe fittings, butt weld fittings and flanges since 1961, in carbon, alloy and stainless steel — for oil and gas, energy, petrochemical and nuclear work. It runs two laboratories, and that is the reason to specify it.

Lame runs an internal and an external laboratory, covering:
- Mechanical testing — does the material reach its stated strength.
- Chemical analysis — is the composition actually the grade ordered.
- PMI (positive material identification) — confirms the alloy of the finished part, not just the batch it came from.
- Charpy impact testing — toughness at temperature, which is what a low‑temperature or nuclear specification asks for.
PMI and Charpy are the two a project QA department asks for by name. If your specification calls for either, say so with the enquiry.
Where it gets used
- Oil and gas — process and utility piping with documented material certification.
- Energy and petrochemical — where the fitting is part of a pressure system sign‑off.
- Nuclear — where traceability and impact data are not optional.
Lame holds a large inventory of controlled raw material, which is what makes a certified fitting a lead time rather than a mill order.
